Hello,
On April 3, I received an email from info@katfile.com stating that starting March 18, the inactivity period for files without downloads was extended from 90 days to 2 years.
However, today I found that more than 100 of my files were deleted around 19 hours ago, which is quite confusing.
I would like to ask whether there have been any further changes to the file deletion policy.
Some of these files were even re-shared or published again just yesterday, so they should not be considered inactive.
Is it possible that these deletions were caused by reports or other factors?
Or are there any additional policies or mechanisms currently affecting file availability that have not been announced?
In addition, if large-scale deletions are occurring again, based on past experience, it is possible that I am not the only user affected. I would therefore like to check whether there may be a broader or systemic issue.
I would appreciate your help in clarifying the reason behind this large number of deletions, so I can better understand how to proceed.
Thank you for your assistance.
Yes, these settings have been in place since March 18, and if a file isn’t downloaded for two years, it gets deleted. (These days, only files that we receive from valid DMCA requests are removed.)Hello,
