Joomla speed Doubt

hi,

previously i used wordpress and my site opens fast ..nowadays i am testing my site with joomla..i feel joomla is very easy than wordpress and i love to use joomla

but my sites takes extra 60+ seconds to load ...i have not kept any unnecessary modules ,components ,image slider etc etc

is it true that joomla needs powerfull hosting than wordpress?

I have used both and I love both.
But I never faced any delay with joomla.
Did you try on your localhost ?
