Is this a virus?

When i open an external link (from applications other than my browser - MSN, skype, etc) I get this favicon

Is this a virus?
I'm pretty sure i haven't installed spyware. I have done many scans using Avast but it didnt find the virus.

I am always logged in to sites like wx, wj, facebook etc
