Ok.. just installed IP.Shoutbox v1.1.3 ... and why is there no setting for an admin to edit member post in the shoutbox...

this makes no sense to me... i should have complete control over every part of my board!

am i missing something?? in the acp i can allow members to edit there own text... but a lot good that does me if something is posted that shouldnt be.

X-( does anyone have a solution to this?

Of course you can. You just need to give suitable privilages to the moderation group.
ACP -> My Apps -> Shoutbox -> Management -> Moderators

house you're talking about manage member groups??

yeah ... it gives the option to edit own posts.. and it give the members the option to edit there own post, etc....

but there is no option for admins & mods to edit members!

Not the best quality video but use the fullscreen option. The first part is about installing so from around 3:00 is the interesting part.

Glad I could help! :)

In my view its not more all over the place and unorganized then any other forum software. It takes time to learn well and I guess there are books around but you prolly learn more by using the software then read about it. Just remember your backups if things goes wrong as they normaly do sooner or later and its normaly not the softwares fault but rather the user. :D

Here's some small basic info:

There's alot of good info on the official IPB forum:

There's also a special IPB section here on wjunction so if you have any probs just create a post and hopefully you can get help:
