Insulting other members helps increase your Organic Traffic

This is really weird and amazingly all true.

Google updates it's algorithm constantly making minor tweaks to improve it's results and one of it's latest updates it to stop hate sites and arguments appearing in results.

Google tracks how many replies are made to a topic and how often. Random example from a topic in WJunction below.

Now when an argument or drama starts then you get loads of replies to a topic very fast. Google can't tell it's an argument but sees lots of replies to the topic so thinks it must be important and boosts it up the search results.

Lots of webmasters who had sales sites used to be aggressive and insulting to it's members as this created more replies, more organic traffic and more sales. Some may remember I made a mod that replied to random topics a few months back both to increase organic traffic but also to make your site look busier.

Anyway Google has now made adjustments to it's algorithm to prevent this in future although it's a secret to what adjustments they did.

Probably won't affect WJ as the drama and arguements are usually closed within a few hours.

mod I was refering to as requested in replies. NOTE it's pretty old and hasn't being updated but does still work. I was just using it as an example while writing the above topic.

-1 to this thread, I can't see the purpose of making it/revealing the wonderful way to get your site some traffic, while there are pretty much other ways to get traffic :(

reputation? forum? lol who ever said anything about them. This is all about sales and making money. When your relying on organic traffic it can't tell if you've a good or bad reputation. That's the whole point. They don't care about their reputation as Google can't tell the difference. It just sees loads of activity. Even if you create a scam thread someplace and everyones talking about how crap the hosting is and how bad the uptime is all Google sees is keywords like "hosting", "uptime", "support", etc etc and a link to the site with loads of replies. Google presumes it's all good and sends the site traffic.

If your selling something most sites concentrate on the product and converting sales and then have a small support area when you get complaints. Nobody ever sees this until you get problems. That's the whole idea.

Now if your traffic is built on reputation then yes you do need a great reputation but I'm on about organic traffic.

Think of it as an uploader. Who gives a shit if Rapidshare has better speed, uptime, better for downloaders etc. They don't have a reward system. See now your thinking money. Think Money and traffic and re-read the thread and you'll see it makes perfect sense.


And if you were to have a look at my mod it does the exact opposite and loads of positive comments to boost organic traffic but also add to reputation and encourage downloads. Look at WBB. your way way more likely to download a topic with lots of replies than a topic with zero replies. If your good at coding you can make the good reviews look real and natural.

Mate, you certainly didn't get the point. Happy wants to say how search engines index threads with lots of replies quickly. Of course there are other ways to get traffic as well(most of which I'm not aware of).
And yeah, I can assure you, most of us in fact, that when Happy makes a thread, it does make a lot of sense. His posts are the best in WJ, full of nice facts unknown to most of us here, if not all of us :)

The point which I intended to bring to this thread is, these type of threads get you the traffic from google, which means the visitors will land on a thread full of kids insulting/arguing with each other showing their nice language that is full of garbage half of it is wtf-gtfo-stfu- blah blah blah.


So what I'm against here is, the example you made, and second, if the drama and useless threads ( same as threads made by scripts what ever editing you can make, and even the users won't be real so they won't be active to reply or give any attention to any action by new members ) are the only way, then either you are looking for traffic to get some cash from adsense or to link to other sites using that site.

Other than that, don't even think about this idea especially if you are building a community.

Google love it or not, at the end who ever gonna land on the site is a human being who care about what is shared on that site and what the site look like.


So, the purpose of your site will either see this thread useful or not, and tbh, Uplaoders will look for already constructed sites which have traffic already, and web masters ( the wise ones ) will get busy to get traffic in a right way so they won't screw their sites by any mistake.

So, it might be useful in automated sites which aim to make money from adsense or for sites that are made to advertise other sites ( also to get money ).

Ok valid points. We're sorta going a bit off topic but I'll continue as it show's people how search engines work.


First with relation to your point and the pages getting indexed in Google being all flame etc. Now if the page rank of that page increases that means that the page rank of the home page increases even more. While you may get eg 100 hits to that page you'll probably get some where like 500 hits to your targeted pages through the page rank being spread around the site. Think of the page as a "take one for the team page" or "Kamikaze Pilot".
If your were totally thinking about money the other thing to do is just redirect people away from that page when landing on the site for the first time. Sorta like the way you make or show people rules before you show them what they want to see.

You can use scripts to improve your site and community. I do it very very successfully. I just jumped to page 5 on the first topic I saw on WBB. Here it is

Now you have to admit that while the replies are real they could easily be made by a script. That's what my script did. It wasn't meant to replace a community just encourage it. If you see lots of replies like that your way way more likely to download. Don't say you'd download from a topic on WBB with zero replies if you were given the chance to download from a topic with a few hundred of replies like above.

Now if you have a site were people are 50% more likely to download then you have can half the traffic to get the same amount of downloads.

Anyway. I'm not telling or suggesting you use it I'm just telling you what works.

I know happy good enough, till I asked him to manage my site many times and sadly he refused :( that's why I hate him and I stand against him now :))

Not exactly. See Google has patched this loophole now by adjusting the algorithm. I've being using the knife for the last few years and now that it's blunt and of no use I'm sharing it :P


And I used to talk to TTS a lot on MSN. he's a good and clever guy. I've no problem with him at all. He's made excellent well constructed points in this topic.

But does your script have the ability to make accounts on w-bb and spam a specific thread ? well, if yes, I'm going to abuse it very very bad lol

Ya, if that's the case, then sorry, I didn't thought it works on other boards, and I guess pple won't change their opinions about wbb when it gets to the spam in it, + who care, I ( as an uploader not a webmaster )just need hits

Now that's why happy should have been hated now :'( he knew that a while ago, and he shared it when it's useless

No it was designed to be used by the webmaster and used on his or her own site. You have to upload it as it's a file and then run it sorta like a plugin or mod.

I just may not have mentioned in detail all it's benefits as to be honest back then I didn't know of it's full potential and only grew to know these while using it.
