well every filesharing host is failing some or the other way...

fileserve = failserve cuz they are banning the prem accs.

hotfile = banning the ip's :P

a filesharing should be like something different like rapidshare was before...

you fail if you try to do something odd xD

You can't be sure about something that will happen in a couple of months, let alone 3 years! A couple of months ago I would have thought that Hotfile will be the biggest file host but with Fileserve catching up swiftly, we can't be sure of that anymore. Similarly, a year or two ago, when RS still had their rewards program, RS would have been projected as the biggest file host.

Guessing by the current popularity, Hotfile, Fileserve and Filesonic will be the biggest file hosters but I will be surprised if a couple more new hosts don't come up and replace them in the next few years. :P

hate RS or like it
they gave up and i don't know if HF can keep paying uploaders

so lets just wait and watch

LOL dude nothing will be eliminated ... more and more companies will come in , they will get some money and then shutdown , and the same thing in a while loop ;p

In three years, file hosts like rapidshare/megaupload/hotfile will probably die out.

New technology and new means of downloading will be in place.

I doubt hosts like fileserve and filesonic will stay around for that long. At least using their current bussinnes model.
Rewarding uploaders is sthg they can, more or less, get away with, but sponsoring warez boards and advertising their services on those boards is difficult to explain, if not impossible.
Will a judge understand why filesonic sponsors planetsuzy or why fileserve banner is on pornbb, for instance?.
I can't recall seeing RS or MU so directly associated to warez and porn boards.

Sooner or later, all file sharing services will be under radar of the copyright lobby.

Mr Happy is 100% right, as of now it seems cloud hosting is the future....

And who knows, the movie/tv/mp3 producers themselves start selling the stuff on their own sites for very very cheaper rates and that time piracy will come down a lot... u never know wat will happen... ;)

Actually mgaupload is the first, see the trends:

Hard to tell. Was FileServe around 3 years ago? No. Is it one of the biggest file hosting companies now? Yes. It could easily be a company founded in the next 1-2 years which is the top.
