imgDrive - Uploaders wanted (Get paid upfront)

Hi,

We are looking for beta uploaders for our new image hosting service, imgDrive.com
You will be paid $10 per week (upfront) to upload and share images.

Our service is a lot different compared to other image sharing websites. We do not have a billion adult images, interstitial ads or annoying pop-ups. In fact, we have no ads at all :)

Requirements and Terms
  • Currently looking for 10 uploaders.
  • You need to upload and share at least 20 images per week.
  • Each image need to receive at least 200 archived views (average) = $2.5/1000 views, prepaid.
  • If posting on forums, blogs, websites etc.:
    • No more than 2 images per topic.
    • We do not want to pay $10 for one topic containing 20 images ;)
  • $10 per week (upfront) - PayPal or Payza.
  • Adult content not allowed (sorry, billing provider rules - no exceptions).
    • It's okay to upload non-nude model pictures.
    • Just follow the "Facebook Acceptable" guideline (do not upload images that will be rejected by Facebook).

Please note
  • You are a beta tester, don't be scared if you find a bug :P
  • Please report bugs and other annoying stuff on our forums.
  • Please suggest new features and changes that will improve user-experience.
  • We will be testing our upcoming affiliate system, so please ignore any income that might appear under your account.

Not sure if $10 per week is okay, at least you get paid upfront.

Best Regards,

Kenneth Poulsen

So many things are wrong here that I just do not know where to start.

Image(s) will be public available for up to 30 days (adjustable, 0 to 30 days). The images will then automatically be archived and only available to paying visitors.

Images in this beta test will be available for 3-7 days, then archived and only accessible by paying visitors.

- how does this seem like a good idea? Image hosting is popular because of it being actively open to all. Yours is for 0 -30 days than you have to pay....it just makes no sense why anyone would do this for a couple reasons:
1. you will not be allowed on any forum or blog. You're gonna be banned soooo fast everywhere
2. the user can just upload images to their own server and then add a billing system and keep the money themselves. Bam. Simple, easy and they make more.

All uploaded images will be manually reviewed within 24 hours, but will be view-able by visitors instantly.
You're gonna be sued :p just lost all safe-harbor rights by actively reviewing uploads. Any illegal content found can now be used against you

No more than 2 images per topic.

Each image need to receive at least 1000 archived views (average).
Holy shit

Custom script (no XFS).
wtf is that supposed to mean? It's a great script when configured correctly and some dumbass that has no idea what he is doing is using it. I've passed well over 350,000,000 visitors through the script a day without issues.

We will be testing our upcoming affiliate system, so please ignore any income that might appear under your account.
Make use of comment tags
Now they don't have to ignore it. They won't see it. Less complaints will come your way now

$10/week, 20 images min, 1000 views per image minimum
come on....you're gonna also be charging the users. come on....come on...at least use lube when you're screwing these people for "sharing" images

Hi Jesse,

Actually got a new idea based on your reply, going to update this topic when the coding has been changed - probably tomorrow.

About the DMCA issues; I'm not too worried about that, have been running a file hosting since 2005 and receive close to 50 DMCA reports per day, used to the drill :)

I might lower the views per image, don't think 1000 views per upload is that much actually - specially if posted on forums etc. But okay, it's not a big deal.

Remember; It's new, I expect stuff to change - that's why I'm looking for beta uploaders.

If you've been doing file hosting since 2004 and receiving dmca reports, than you know they can now skip sending the dmca reports and just sue you since you are reviewing the uploaded content and letting things slip by (if you do). You cannot even allow a box shot for a movie to be posted.

But, good thing for your changes :)

Thanks for your comments, going to make some changes.

---------- Post added at 10:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:43 AM ----------

Service has been updated, seems a lot better now (more user-friendly).

  • A notification will appear on images older than 30 days (adjustable 0-30 days), asking visitors to signup for a premium account to remove the notification. They can also click the "no thanks" button, which will skip the notification and redirect the visitor to the image (free, no delay).
  • Paying visitors can view all images without the notification box for a period of 30 days (no recurring payment).
  • All uploaded images will be manually reviewed within 24 hours. (removed)

The view requirements has also been lowered, from 1000 to 200 per image ($2.5/1000 views, prepaid).
