How to make backup for Wordpress

guys i want to change my blog contains
and i want to take backup for blog ( topics,links,...ets )
to recover my old contains if my new project fail


can anyone explain me how to take backup for wordpress blog
and how to recover it again to wordpress blog ?

if you are Using vps then it's pretty easy
tar zcvf your site and mysql database,that is it

^lol fail, you have to mysqldump your db first... It's better.

mysqldump --user=XXXXXXXX --password=XXXXXXX -A > /PATH/TO/DUMPFILE.SQL

Then tar it (I'd suggest gzip tho, it's better too) and download to your desktop.

The guy doesn't even know how to backup his posts and you guys are talking about SSH commands? WTF? :facepalm:. Use one of the plugins posted above, it's easier and faster.

either make a database backup from your Cpanel or just add a plugin on wordpress for backing up data.
