Here is installer for installing rutorrent in one step with 3 lines of code.

Whole installation is 3-10 mins. and its almost fully automated.
It will install rutorrent with multi-user support + all plugins, apache, vsftpd, autodl-irssi, webmin...
You can disable any of options above by simply typing "no" when you run installer.

It doesnt require any advanced linux knowledge.

You are welcome gfx.
@kennt Thanks for reminder. Edited firts page.

I've been trying to get this to work on CentOS and Ubuntu 10.10 and neither worked. I'm trying 11.04 as we speak. So far so good.

I first ran into the irssi problem. Fixed that.
I then ran in the ldconfig problem. Never got this fixed.

I tried another method. I got to configuring and then the configuration couldn't find the OpenSSL package (package not found). I tried to install OpenSSL and it said the package already exists.

You will need clean OS install.

Try without typing yes, just hit enter on every option asked except when adding user.

well i did on clean os ubuntu 10.04 LTS...it works perfect..

but i did one thing before setup.

first do this:

Try to update the system in case there has been some fixes:
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

then use the command from here in the first post.

thats it. one thing i did was , i havent selected encrypted SFTP. i typed no on that option.

i selected nginx instead apache...

thats all

Ok I installed Ubuntu and then installed Rutorrent using ur guide.

now i also want to install rapidleech in my server..

but as i see my directories are password protected by default.. ( when i put only ip address in browser it asks for password saying my rutorrent web site..)

How can i disable the default directory password which is in all directories ?

hey everyone and staff

everytime i add a torrent to my seedbox it saids torrent timed out

but when i add a torrent to utorrent it downloads just fine

so what could be wrong then

thanks
