How To Import Database From VB 3.8.4 ?

just delete old files of forums dont delete database,then upload the latest vb and run upgrade.php,u r done,first take backup.

1) If you installed a fresh vb4 and want to import old vb3.x db then use IMpex, you can get it from vbteam and

2) If you install vb4 on existing vb3.x forum (by replacing old files with new, under public_html folder) then the installation will upgrade your old db to work with vb4

you will need the vbulletin files along with the database.. only database wont help.. Impex will work good.. I used impex to import SMF and phpBB to one vB..

1. upload latest vb 4.1.x files
2. restore database
3.enter database details in config.php
4. run upgrade script


thats it.

you must upgrade before

1. restore vb 3.8.x database
2. uploade vb 4.14 and running upgrade.php

you can't import databse from 3.8.x to vb 4.1.4 you must restore before databse 3.8.x then upgrade to vb 4.1.4
