How to host single site in 2 servers - to avoid downtime

We all guys know about the last month server down of great host, now one host is hacked

Big forums or sites have regular visitor but what about growing sites, first these sites need to make trust(100% uptime)

so how to host a single site in 2 server(shared hosting), even one is down means other one will manage the user..

so how to setup....?

pointless buying two shared hosting accounts. Your far better off getting your own vps or small dedi where you have more control over it and have far less downtime as you generally don't have kids running it.

this is my own thread, now my site is down due to some problem in hosting....

so any clean tutorials for hosting a single website in 2 vps =>> so if one is down means, other will handle atleast not offline to users.

atleast everyone need this.

Note:
(but now atleast i have backup - learnt from past)

For a new site, you shouldn't be so concerned about having it this way. Focus on getting a reliable host or, like Mr Content said, get a VPS or dedicated server that is to be used for only your site.

Really, your concern for load balancing is misplaced.

It sounds like you're looking for an automatic failover solution. It's possible, the exact setup will depend on which sort of website you are running. For example you can do the following if it's a website which is ran using a MySQL database:

Server 1: Hosts only the MySQL database
Server 2: Main server - Hosts website files
Server 3: Backup server - Hosts website files and will take over if server 2 fails

Each server connects to Server 1 which hosts only the MySQL file.

A failover solution is by no means a budget setup but it does get the job done.

I agree, you have to use a virtual hosting. I'm also using the virtual hosting but I have 5 websites, and I'm very glad for it. Additionally the prices now are not so big as earlier, so you can choose among the companies. As for me I prefer the Natcoweb, but also there is Webair and Godaddy.

there are hosts that provide you with services like this.
but this will clearly be out of your budget. Since you have to manage a lots of things.

you can also do this on your own.
but you have to take care of lots of things.
e.g. if your hoster won't provide automatic failover (which will cost more than a small vps) you have to set a load-banacer before your servers.
then you can either set-up a MySQL-Cluster or using a simpel server for mysql.
A single MySQL-SErver will get you long requests since you have to route through the internet - or you host in the same Database - which in your case isn't a good idea.
files can be synced via rsync or s.th. like this.

your "load-balancer" should then be hostet on s.th. like amazon in order to have a 100% uptime with good SLA
