How To Download Safe

Hey guys I just have a quick question:
I'm currently a heavy downloader from multiple sites, and some friends that i know have received letters from the ISP telling them to stop downloading "illegal stuff", I really don't want to get to that point so i want to know what is the safest way to download. Some people have told me to get a VPN and i will be fine, some people have told me to get a VPS and do everything remotely from there witch i really don't mind waiting for file transfers.
Also throwing out there if that SOPA law passes will this methods work or not.
I'm open for any VPN or VPS companies that you recommend.



This is how i download my stuff
1.I have a Filesonic and Filejungle account
2.Copy links to IDM
3.Download them to my Desktop or Laptop.

I would wait until I got a warning, then use a VPN to download files.

Your ISP most likely works on the three strike rule if they send out letters, so you should be safe enough with 1 or 2 warnings.

Ok cool either way witch is a good VPN company that you guys recommend.
