Hi there

I have bought a new server from OVH. I want to start providing RDP accs. I have setuped the server for security and speed. But I am unable to create RDP users with allocated HDD spaces.

How do I create users with isolated/personal HDD space where only they can access and read/write files? Is there any special program for this? Any help will be appreciated.

I assume you are using Windows.

Create new users as standard users, not Admins via "Control Panel => User Accounts". Install any software whilst logged in as Admin, and install for "All users" (such as WinRar, filezilla, etc) to give everyone the ability to use them, since they will not be able to install them themselves due to permission limitations for "standard users".

Limit HDD space by setting up Quotas. Google "Windows version Disk Quota"

How many users will be on same OS is a good point. Because perhaps you will need install Terminal services to allow more than two simultaneous conections.

OK. What else is required for creating an RDP server? How to disable the user accessing the other drives (D:/ E:/)?

For setting up permissions, goto Properties of the drive where you want to disable all users except User A.
Goto Security Tab - Edit.
Remove all users and add the user whom you want to grant access. You can adjust permissions according to your needs.

Thanks guys. But I found creating mounted partitions a much more easier route. Or is it deprecated? Quotas and security permissions didn't seem to do the job.
