How much will it cost to open an image hosting Site?

The same idea. I has already created one image host. You can start with VPS (dedicated server cost too much) around $20. Register 1 domain $12/year. Use a free hosting image script then launch it. After a couple of weeks, let see and decide later.
 
There's a lot of image hosts. Why do you want to run one more? You will need much more money for promotion, than just to run it.

Thanks for suggestion, where can i buy such VPS? Any host you recommend?

I have non-adult traffic, And i plan to use adsense there, no pop-ups etc..
 
Lifetalk created one of the best image hosts and it disappeared due to reasons I don't know but I would assume because it is so costly with such little return, I also assume it requires more than average amount of moderating due to the type of content that can be uploaded and viewed instantly.

I wish you the best of luck and think you should definitely try this if you want to... Some things are difficult but some people are good at difficult things so maybe this will work very good for you, just want you to be aware that a lot is involved in image hosting, I don't have personal experience but I know bits and bobs about what is needed/exponentially growing and needing to change the script/add more servers etcetc.

Personally I'd rather go into setting up a file host but well.. I don't live in the mountains and don't fancy prison.
 
It was definitely costly to run; it outgrew servers quicker than I could imagine. However, I later sold it, and the new owner just couldn't keep up with it. There were also a couple times when questionable content was uploaded and he just did not want to deal with all of that.

So he just gave me the domain back and shut things down. I wonder how things would have been if it had kept on going. Guess I'll never know.
 
Last time i was consider about open image file hosting with affiliate program. The VPS should be enough for start , but if you can should go for dedicated server , right now price for dedicated server not that high.
P/S : I would like to know which most script image hosting ruining in WJ now ?
 
Thanks for all the tips guys. Most hosts still support non-adult images but they have bunch of pop-ups Which is not good for a non-adult image host, I got warning a few times some sites.
I also took a look on Chevereto script who offer script with one year hosting just for $48. I plan to add affiliate system later but this script has no affiliate add-on.
@leeooing, Most host are running Imgshot script i think.

Chevereto script is not for kind of hosting with affiliate. It is all about community image hosting. I took a look and maybe script from sibsoft could be the right one. but price is quite dear
 
There are lots of image hosting site and so this must be an earning niche still.
Adult photos are being shard everywhere and so earning $ per CPM can be easy still using adnetworks.

I have non-adult traffic. I don't have guts to upload porn without watching it. :-=
