How much money does putlocker make?

Hi,

Just wondering how much do you think giant file/video hosts such as putlocker produce in revenue? I pulled up estimates saying over $20,000 a day. Could this be true or is it much lower? A majority of money they get I assume is from advertisements from the annoying popups and ads on their site?

One can only speculate about that. Saying 20.000 makes no difference from saying 2. No one knows, and we won't know, because they certainly won't publicize that.

Understood, but is this not a forum where there are many file host owners registered here? Surely they'd have some kind of idea of how much their competitors are making. For example if I was a small time file host making $5,000 a day and putlocker is 100x more popular then mine then I would know putlocker would be making much more then then $20,000 for example. These filehost sites all have the same kind of business model from what I'm seeing.
 
Well based on more facts (alexa rank, adv network they us and geo) we can only speculate.
I'll say the number is smaller, but as cvrle77 stated above, they wont publicize this number.
1 thing is for sure, there are money to be had on internet.

Yes, true, competitor COULD come up with 'some' number (but it wouldn't be more precise than you saying $20.000 a day). Like in any business, there are secrets. Specially when it involves money, and earnings. I am sure they make a lot.
 
This whole business concept interest me. I have a good amount of funds ($200,000+) with a team behind me and am assessing if its worth having a go at conquering this area in file/video uploads.

If this would be the case, you would be smart enough to research the market for a potential new business field. How do you want to start business if you fail already with that? :facepalm:

I wouldn't say $20 000, considering they do not have affiliate program anymore. Now we talking 20K per day revenue or profit, those are two different things. They do have a lot of servers to pay for also.

Invest such money into something else. Filehosting is not a stable business, right now.

I am sure if you have that kind of money to throw at a project, you could invest it in something more stable then a filehost, especially if you are going to be relying on a place such as this were the majority are uploading illegal files (warez). Could end up more trouble for you then its worth honestly
