How can we check to see if a site has this installed?
is there a custom url/extra files we can access with our browser as a regular user to confirm the existence of this mod on any site? ie xvideosharing.com/shavingmod.pl

xfs had lots of vulnerabilities before, maybe its possible some way
and the shaving mod is only available for xvideosharing afaik, not xfilesharing

That why I never use xfilesharing. All are bad. Forget them

It's impossible for us user to know if they have a shaving system or not, unless you are an admin. If you would like to check if a filehost have such a feature, use a service like adfly (you can inactive ads so it will be like tinyurl) which tells you how many clicks you have. If the filehost shows a lot fewer downloads than clicks, you can be more sure that they have a shave system in use. But you can't be 100% sure either, because you don't know if the one who clicked on your link actually downloaded, or someone shared your direct link to the filehost. So at lest, it a way to get guidance which is better than nothing.
