Well... except for the sale of premium account, where filesonic, fileserve, rapidshare, megaupload earn from? From the traffic that a user generate when download something? Advertisement?

Generally, is there something that makes possible to earn only generating traffic to/from a website without ads or sales?
Cheers :)

what does it mean? technically, virtually, how the traffic leads to profit? :)
If I create a blog where somebody else post his links (uploaded stuff) and they are not referred by me, without using ads or selling something, can I earn something?
Can I earn only by the traffic generated?

If you have direct links from your blog to fileserve hotfile etc, even if you dont upload the stuff, you will make money from premium sales..

no only with traffic you can't earn nothing... you need to to show some ads or something... so that they will pay you.

but in the filehosts case... more traffic means more premium account can be sold.

You are wrong body they have 10000+ Sales daily buddy

i think they are earn by selling premium only...

Eg:
fileserve: $60/year, so $5/month, then $0.17/day

think they have 1 lakhs premium members - 1lakhs * 0.17 = $17k/day...

i read in fdc server once - 100gbit server cost 100k/month
(But sure fileserve will buy it in bulk for long contract, so it should be cheaper than 100k)
Fileserve must have 300-400 gbit(Rapidshare already have 600 Gbit)

so 400gbit = 100k * 4 = 400k/month, so $13.33K/day

So Net value = 17k - 13.3k = some amount(they will pay for uploaders + profit)

BUT SURE there will not be any change in $13.3K, but 17k(practically it possible for more than 25k)

Note:
filehosts without popup will increse their reputation, more reputation more sales(so they keep ads away...)

Exception:
Mediafire/duckload even have premium, they use popup ads
Sure each popup will gives atleast 5 mill($ 0.005) for US/UK - but you can expect atleast three popup

sure they may earn millions if adblock/popup addons are not present...lol

I am weak in mathematics..lol

That was a load of horse shit right there! Every bit of calculation you did is based entirely on gross assumption. You don't have even the slightest bit of 'fact' in your calculations. You know what that does? It creates a misleading picture of everything.

Unless you know the facts, I'd suggest you speculate instead of drawing up a huge ass post full of calculations based on assumption and then claim to be weak at Math towards the end.

And please, 'lakh' is not a global term. Use one that everyone on this board would understand.
