does nulled WHMCS have any security vulnerabilities

Your missing the point. That wasn't the point. WHy should I buy from a company who can't afford licenses... I think that's self explanitory.. Would you buy from a host if you knew they had nulled whmcs and other things on their server? or even a ripped or overused template? shit, I wouldn't..

Anyways moving on. Lets hear other opinions.

Who doesn't like quick money? Anyone can buy a $40 server from netdirekt + nulled whmcs and get a few clients and close after 3 month. But it is getting annoying to other hosters that actually put effort, time, + money into what they're doing. And I believe it is turning into a "scam" as someone said here on the thread.

Barely any host puts effort and time here. Most of them are "out of the box" hosters. They get some "professional" template, get themselves one dedi, + buy whmcs. And act like some professional hosters, you gotta face the fact that most of the WJunction web hosters are quick money kids. With or without legit WHMCS.

Why should I buy from some "company" that own 1 dedicated server and legit WHMCS licence?

You are missing the point, having licence for something doesn't explain anything. If someone doesn't have licence for something he could have bigger knowledge from that guy who owns a licence, he could modify it to have no security vulnerabilities (if it had), he could be a great server tech who didn't had enough money at the time for the licence. But he wanted to start his business.

That may be somewhat true, but still as Ace said, WJ is growing and they are trying to make it as professional as possible for the future. Also with things like this: http://www.wjunction.com/showpost.php?p=476320&postcount=4 it's getting quite sad.

Also I want to say that, they are at least putting forward money and time to make themselves look legit. and if it works, they will get better as some hosts here are getting bigger because they decided to do whats right.

There's nothing legit on WJunction, unless el_jentel1 is changing the whole concept of the site? You can't be legit if you host warez linking forums, cracking websites, and shit like that.

Only rule that should be implemented here is to have a Review hosting user group, which members will decide should that hosting have official thread on WJunction or not.

So your saying just because the sites hosted arent legal, (technically they are because of where thier hosted) that means the host can't be professional looking and actually look like they give a care.

Lets move on!

Let's be realistic?
Would some older guy want his site hosted with some illegal sites on same server? Would he?

Of course he wouldn't. You can't make some legit hosting company from some small warez linking wannabe hosting company. This ain't a fairytale.

If you guys recently noticed, the hosting section now allows legit hosting companies to advertise, before it was only sites that allow warez that were allowed to advertise in the section.

We shouldn't make it a rule but we should encourage hosts to use legitimate software. I think it's slightly hypocritical for a site that is in the Katz Network to be telling hosts that they must use licenced software.

Here is what I think should be done:

Each thread in the hosting offers section goes through moderation, if the host is using a nulled script, a moderator replies with something like "Beware: Host is using illegal software, please be careful when buying from this host". Eventually hosts that use nulled scripts will realise that it's better to use legit software as this will increase their sales because they won't get the "Beware" message.

VB and WHMCS are way far from each other ....

edit:-
using nulled just shows that tey don't have enough money to invest in their business and have doubt that they would even continue :|

You think I can't afford a fucking WHMCS license?
EVERYBODY here @ wjuntion runs a warez forum... 85% are nulled vBulletin, those are successfully nullfied by DGT as example. Not even 1 security hole!

Yes nulled WHMCS has security vulnerabilities

Same with WHMCS, I use a nulled version, but before I just uploaded to my server I re-checked the whole nulled WHMCS for security holes, I only find one small bug, not even a security hole.

I also agree with this, but also check the REPUTATION of the member that is providing hosting.
Use ME as example, I use a nulled WHMCS, but most members here know that I'm legit, why should my WHMCS be legit then?

Another idea is iTrader. But I don't want to get involved with this discussion.

+1 Jason ;)

Using nulled software to a company that provide's great software is bad.
And it's bad for you're rep. it's $12.50.

If you think that fee is bad. I pay $20 a month to hostbill.

Great suggestion, however, there are "start-ups" which start with nulled scripts. Once they've made enough $$$ they purchase the license. But, now, it's just start-ups with nulled scripts, 100% downtime, low prices, crap staff etc etc.

Agreed on this one. If they can't even afford a billing system then it would be quite interesting to know how they can afford a dedicated server or whatever they use to host on.

The problem is, I CAN AFFORD A LICENSE, but why should I give $15/mo to WHMCS?
I can buy a domain with that money :P

The reason I don't have a license is that I don't give a fuck. And I give a FUCK about my clients but I've secured my WHMCS...

Perfect idea.

Basically to make members aware of the nulled content, if they decide to go ahead and get hosting then that would be their choice.

And other people that didn't or don't know how to do it?

I support the disclaimer idea :)
