Help- My Site was Stolen From Me- Scammed

I didnt pay him the $500 just for the Domain name, that was my first payment to set things up and buy the name and the server for it, but he needed more for software etc. so he received another $500. I know I was stupid and too trusting, my mother always told me that when she was still with me. (She is with the Angels now)

But today I checked godaddy again and found this info;

So I may have to wait until August to approach godaddy to buy it and the price might be cheaper than the $69.99 plus their commission of 10%, that they ask for now. I need to go through them as I dont want that thief to know who is interested in it. But I dont have the money right now anyway.

That site is still down and I doubt will be back. It went down because the server was hacked and this affected many sites and some went down including DivxTurka, one of the biggest on the net (about 350,000 members). Thankfully my new site didnt as I heeded the servers warnings and changed my root password and did an immediate back up. Thief didnt and DivxTurka didnt. I however still have a back for my orginal site that he stole, from Aug 2011, but he will never get that info.

I dont need, nor want, to get revenge on him, that seems to be being handled by the great "Boss" above quite nicely! :D

I will keep you all updated and I really appreciate all your support, thank you all so much. Your comments and help are invaluable.

that address is for "Domains by Proxy". It is "hiding" his address. I beleive if you look up the company you will find that is the address for it. He tried to hide his tracks, he just didnt do a good enough time of it.

The best thing you could do now is, get your money back start an dispute on Paypal or call them and explain everything. you will get your money!
as far as domain names are considered they are GONE now!
if you have access to php-myadmin promote your self to Admin, ask another admin (expecting to be your friend) to remove your IP from Banned list. Bingo your Admin again and Delete that Mike Account from DB!

in all and all, if Fortune favors you wil get your
DB + PP Money + Members with you. So probably a new site!

are you using dreamteamdownloads db on dreamteamdownloads1? coz i can login with my username on dreamteamdownloads and i dont think i registered on dreamteamdownloads1
 
You gave him too much money to start with.

You should call the local police and tell them your story, and just ask them to give him a little scare which may prompt him into giving you your cash (or some of it) back. Just ask them if they could visit him and give him some words which might scare him a little and hope for the best.

No I have everything new, thats why it costs me so much, but I did move all the members over so they wouldnt lose their status. You are showing as a member on my site under the same user name;

In the dangerous country I live in, the cops dont give a "scare" or a warning, merely a bullet from usually a 9mm.....dont tempt me LOL

Did all that, no luck and he blocked the other Admin too.

Anyway that site is closed now, although I hear he is reopening it again. Because of his bad rep maybe using a different username, but he will have to start from scratch, as he never had a database, but I do :D and he sure aint having it.

He is appealing for Admin help to do it and promises he will pay them..... Ho Ho Ho, maybe he will or maybe not, as he didnt before to the admin that helped him, and if he does, he will pay with all the thousands of $$$ he stile from those poor donating members that didnt get the benefit from it as he closed. (He did that many times, then wrote to them saying he couldnt pay his server, then reopened to allow them to donate again!)

I doubt he will get any staff though, too many know him now.

You are so right and one of my staff has reported he now owns 43 Domains!!!! Goodness knows now many he has scammed and I am disgusted that Paypal will not take any action, even though I gave them a lot of info on him many times.
 
such a complicated case, you're in, while cybercop never deals with this kind of scam.
uhm, it's not like im encouraging this 'mike' here, but i can bet he's a 1st class con-man, that could manage to con many people.

judging from your case, this 'mike' here was taking the advantage of internet privacy flaws. which is even if you reported them either to the server or even the paypal, they'll just simply ignored it, giving you any answer they could think of and thinking you're trying to deceive them.

here's a piece of advice, never make a business with someone you never met in real-life.
even we sometimes got deceived in real-life, what would make the net better?

Hey man sorry for your loss. There is nothing you can do about the domain name though I will be more than happy to help you get your site back for free. Yes for free. I would like to give to the community. So here is where we can start. Just PM me on this forum (I'm rarely active on this forum) but I will keep checking for a PM from you. i never trust any body on the internet i have been ask before to set up a company with some one and all he needed was 150$ i said nooo

a big and bad lesson you have learned in theses days of there is so many scam and cons on the internet never give money for stuff

and you did pay a lot of money to set a site up you could have done it with a lot less money

i am sorry you got ripped off i hope he get what he got coming to him

What owner? I was the owner and that thief Mike stole it from me.

Thank you all for your nice and supporting comments.

He has reopened that site he stole from me, again, so I will never get that name back. So thats the end of that.

He also sent out emails to all the members, espec the donating ones, threatening them that if they didnt come back he would remove them from the site.
So you can see what he is after, doesnt care about the members, only the $$$ 8-)
