pls be honest too :P
So are u ready huh, here is the first one for ya all>>>>>>>>

QUIZ 1:
During a recent police investigation, Chief Inspector Stone was interviewing five local villains to try and identify who stole Mrs Archer's cake from the mid-summers fayre. Below is a summary of their statements:

Arnold: it wasn't Edward
it was Brian

Brian: it wasn't Charlie
it wasn't Edward

Charlie: it was Edward
it wasn't Arnold

Derek: it was Charlie
it was Brian

Edward: it was Derek
it wasn't Arnold

It was well known that each suspect told exactly one lie. Can you determine who stole the cake?

QUIZ 2:

Three people check into a hotel. They pay £30 to the manager and go to their room. The manager suddenly remembers that the room rate is £25 and gives £5 to the bellboy to return to the people. On the way to the room the bellboy reasons that £5 would be difficult to share among three people so he pockets £2 and gives £1 to each person. Now each person paid £10 and got back £1. So they paid £9 each, totalling £27. The bellboy has £2, totalling £29. Where is the missing £1?

NOTE:THE QUIZ 1 & 2 ARE OVER SO PLEASE CHECK ITS ANSWERS ON 2ND PAGE FOR LATEST QUIZ QUESTIONS CHECK LATEST PAGES....

How clever are you?

My question to you, might be a little bit tricky to answer though. :p

Just messing with you, I am too lazy to figure out the quizzes lol

Q2 : The bellboy. If he would have taken £2, the charges would be £28, so he takes £3 extra makes it £27 which can be divided by 3 people?

For the first question, It's Charlie.
Check everyone's statements and try to assume one as correct, proceed with the same thing and Charlie comes out as the culprit. Gosh it's just a cake :|

For the second question, If you go the reverse way:

£1*3(Returned to each customer) + £2(Taken by Bellboy) + £25(Actual rent) = £30

The manager/customers have no clue that Bellboy has taken £2, It's considered as the total rent. -_-

So, £27(£2 for Bellboy and £25 for actual rent) + £1*3(Returned to each customer) = £30

no lust. it sure that 25£ is with manager... They paid 30£ so 30-25= 5£.. So bellboy was given 5£.. He decided to take 2£ from 5£.. so 5-2= 3£.. So 2£ with bell boy.. So 3£ was divided between the 3 people.. :|

Seems like there isnt anything missing :|

1. Charlie.
2. u got it wrong... they paid 27 but the bellboy took 2 from this 27. and this way the manager had only 25. don't know why you added the 2 to the 27... you have to take it away... to get to 25, the amount which the manager got.

EDIT:

2. don't know what should be resolved here. the results are already there. :S

but nice1 ;) keep em comming :P

QUIZ NO.1 ANSWER>>>>>

Answer: Charlie committed the terrible crime. The way to solve this puzzle is to look at each clue. We know that exactly one of each person's statements is true. Looking at Arnold's statements, let's check to see 'it was Brian' is true? If 'it was Brian' is true, then we know the other statement is false, therefore it was Edward. This is a contradiction. Hence we now know it wasn't Brian, nor Edward (as 'it wasn't Edward' must be the true statement). Looking at Charlie's statement, we can similarly determine that it wasn't Arnold either. Edward's statement gives us that it wasn't Derek, which leaves only Charlie as the culprit. It is always wise to check this against the other clues. .

QUIZ NO.2 ANSWER>>>>>

Answer: We have to be careful what we are adding together. Originally, they paid £30, they each received back £1, they now have only paid £27. Of this £27, £25 went to the manager for the room and £2 went to the bellboy.

Those who Get it right than congratzz to them all

QUIZ NO.3 >>>>>

At midnight on Sunday, December 31st, Professor Stone set two of his analogue clocks to the correct time. One of his clocks gains one minute every hour and the other loses two minutes every hour.

1. When will the clocks next show the same time as each other?
2. When will the clocks both show the correct time?

i think quiz 3 is tough huh... no body can answer it atleast......
Thats cause most people here are dumb :p (J/K)

1. When will the clocks next show the same time as each other?
The clock will show same time as each other at 1 second past midnight, when it will be 00:01 on both clocks ;)

2. When will the clocks both show the correct time?
the clock will both show correct time on 00:01, 1 second after they were set ;)

Not so tough now, is it? :p
