So with the increased trend in sites being hacked including some major ones and them being defaces Google is working to help webmasters and inform them that their site is hacked. One of the latest things they are working on is if you have for example a contact page with an email eg mainto: and Google knows that the email belongs to the site it will try and send you an email to tell you that your site is hacked. They'll remove your site obviously from the search results and then restore them later when you've fixed the problem.

Full story in detail here. It's over a month old but didn't hear about it until now. http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2010/12/new-hacked-site-notifications-in-search.html

Also talked about a tiny bit in this video here http://www.youtube.com/user/GoogleWebmasterHelp#p/u/4/lnhK_BvrrcA

kinda lame..
it's not a protection at all.

I never used the word protection anywhere. I'm on about Google telling webmasters when they are hacked.

If your on about the message warning people in search results well it's only their to help people and remember it's still new. They are a search engine not an antivirus program.

Whatever about it anyway it's a nice idea. It can be useful to get an email telling you your site maybe in trouble allowing you to react quicker.
