Probably you already know that Google Plus have some useful plugins and API but I didnt see post about it here so ... ; )

Google+ Badge

The +1 button continues to provide a great way for visitors of your site to recommend your content or products, and share that content with their circles on Google+.

Now, the Google+ badge allows visitors to directly connect with and promote your brand on Google+. After you've connected your site to your Google+ page, add a Google+ badge to help visitors find and engage with you on Google+.

Google+ API

The Google+ API is the programming interface to Google+. You can use the API to integrate your app or website with Google+. This enables users to connect with each other for maximum engagement using Google+ features from within your application.

Applications are limited to a courtesy usage quota. This should provide enough access for you to preview the API and to start thinking about how you want to build your application. To see the courtesy limit and to request a higher limit for your application, please see the Google APIs Console. To learn more, see the Google APIs Console Help.

The API is still pretty useless when compared to Facebook or Twitter but then considering how young G+ is it's still miles ahead of where any other social network were at that age.
It's good to have them added to your site but it's going to be much more important in about 6 months when they start having a direct influence on Search Results. Then their will be a huge dash. Google+ is taking baby steps in improving but soon one of these baby steps will have an significant impact on Organic Traffic and when it those, that's when every webmaster will be in a mad rush to add these.
I do currently track the number of Google Plus Ones for a few hundred warez sites but at the moment it isn't influencing traffic however it will someday. Until then it doesn't bring much traffic.

that's right Mr Happy, api is very simple, but I'm sure that in future G+ will be the major player in the market, just recall the success of Gmail.

There's already some good API widgets around which you can adapt

Take a look at this page for a couple of examples
http://www.v1seo.co.uk/11/v1-seo-google-feed-widget/

They use latest Activities from a user ID
You can display with or without images, different sizes, number of posts, colour schemes, etc.

You can also use Search instead of activities and drop a Google+ search box anywhere you like

again, you configure it how you like.
