What kind of server are you thinking about getting?

I highly recommend not to do buy a server to try to earn from it.
You should start low and when you get experience and knowledge. Maybe, you can give it a try.

If you don't know how you can earn this way you shouldn't bother to start a host.
It would fail (no offence) and there would be alot of mad customers.

Start off by having your own website, read tutorials, learn from guys with hosting knowledge/experience etc etc.

Perhaps you could try the reseller option he mentioned above. But I wouldn't recommend to make it a public host in the early stages, you could sell hosting to your irl friend or internet friends to avoid the mad customers.
