Well one thing i already know is about our amount of content. As it is a new forum, definitely qantity is less. So this thing you don't need to count in your review. But that does not means that you cannot even talk about the Quality of it.

When I visited your site I gazed at the header for few seconds and liked it. But it needs to be modified. Maybe if you add some shaking hands or some mechanical gears or something similar then it can be perfect as your site's name is Get Gather.

Site Theme:

It overall looks good, but I'd expect it to be more a techy type of theme as you are dealing with visitors interested in Mechanical Engineering knowledge. So a theme with nuts, bolts, gears, shafts, etc. would look good. Also, a techno/techy type them would look good.
But this is secondary as your current theme looks good. Keep this idea and get a custom theme designed when your site grows big enough.

You should remove any one of them. I'd suggest remove the 2nd one.

Remove the big filthy advertisement. Its not needed when your site is new and with 0 traffic. Try to add a 468X60 ad banner when your site reaches atleast 1k U/Vs per day as until then you won't make a single penny with those ads.

Remove the version number from the footer and the vBSEO message.
