ftp not working

I wonder if anyone has any ideas about this.

All of a sudden my ftp doesn't connect. The person who runs the server says that it is working for him.

I can get into my site, so I don't think that my ip address is banned, also my ftp works with other servers so port 21 is open.

This appears to be a problem to do with the server, so any suggestions would be helpful.

I am on a vps using solusvm and kloxo control panel

Try using a proxy to connect to your ftp.

username:password@ftp.yoursite.com

If you can connect then your ip is blocked. I had this happen with that port before for my ip only.
 
I think it was either the ip address or the router that was causing the problem as I have turned off the router and everything has came back on.

Thanks for all of your advice, really appreciated.
