This is a warning based on my own experience.

freedlink decided not to pay my latest $15 payment request simply because I refused to provide the password for my archived files.

Here's what happened:

• I submitted a payment request.
• They emailed me asking for the extraction password to my files. According to them, this is for periodic verification and to ensure the files do not contain child abuse content.
• I refused. After 10 years of experience as an uploader, I have never encountered a hosting service that requires archive passwords. Of course, my files contain nothing related to such content, but I am simply not comfortable sharing my password.
• They stated that if I do not comply with their rules, my payments will be suspended indefinitely.
• They have their rules, and I have my choice: to stop using their service.

For me, this service is a scam because they refused to pay for this reason. For users who are willing to follow their rules, you'll probably be fine with payment.

Freedl.ink needs to update their TOS/Affiliate program regarding passwords, problem solved.

That said, I also think it's a bit strange that the user doesn't feel "comfortable" sharing the archive password. He's obviously already comfortable sharing it with thousands of downloaders just to earn a few bucks?

Because I only share my files with a small limited community but not public. And yes, few bucks to get my password is really not worth with me. So i can say goodbye for this bad service easier.

Actually, I would be willing to provide the password if there were a significant amount of money involved, around $150 for example. However, since the withdrawal amount is only $15, I don’t see any real benefit in providing the password, especially considering the potential legal risks.

Besides, the files I upload are copyrighted material anyway (I usually upload music albums). Given that, providing the password in exchange for only $15 simply isn’t worth it to me. Especially when other hosting services have never required anything like this.

Any updates on this issue? Some links have been in this state for weeks, even over a month.
I'm getting tired of reading reports from my users about this.

These are files that will become active again or be deleted because if they remain inactive for months, they will eventually expire on their own since no one can download them.
