In the first thread there were links to warnings about this offer.
1and1.com is very ONSHORE ... it's an American company. It's a very large well managed company with tons of customers. They seem to have a very well managed marketing department too. They use the same strategy as Yahoo .. give something for free or for a small fee and customers stick with them for the second year.
