For content creators: Using warez as means of promotion

First off, all apologies if my english is too awful to understand.

I'm a blogger and want to start capitalizing on it by starting to make ebooks.
Like 90% of all bloggers.

Since my english is only about average, I don't blog in english. Therefore my target demographic is already a lot smaller than for any international webmaster.

Also, my blog still is very small, so I was wondering, would it marketing wise make sense to also distribute my first few ebooks in warez forums for free, while offering them up for sale on the blog?

Because that way it should be easier to raise the amount of readers and in addition potential buyers of future ebooks.

It would definitely be hypocritical, but the way I see it it should still be pretty neat viral marketing

What do you guys, who are by far more experienced with the underground, think about this?

Sorry Gh0st, I don't really understand what you mean with this.

Do you mean that the only new readers I'd get would be scene releasers?

Pretty sure Warner Bros. released a 30 minute copy of Harry Potter 7 pt 1 to the warez scene to promote the movie...kinda like a free sample, if you like it, you go in the store and buy it. The concept has been around for awhile and it can work if done properly and assuming your eBooks are actually remotely good/useful xP

Unsmart, hire someone to translate your books, so you get bigger audience.

Using warez for advertising is good idea, as long as you are the publisher+uploader.


However, I would suggest you to not publish whole books, or at least not whole sets, else you won't earn anything from your work
