Filesonic has servers in US to thats why they are fucked :facepalm:

It's like US feds go to CHINA to arrest some weed junkie. THEY CAN'T they need the permission and even if they get it, CHINA wont won't let him go to the US and so they can judge about him. Maybe he will get fucked from China but not from US feds :facepalm:

Go google something like that

It's my understanding that any domain that ends in .com and another ending (either .info or .net, I can't remember), have their services routed through a company in Phoenix U.S.A. It makes no difference where the actual server is located, it uses the services of the company in Phoenix. The English guy who is being extradited to the USA for linking to copyright infringing websites, is not being extradited because his server was in the USA, but because the traffic from his server was routed through the USA. The U.S. justice department are saying that copyrighted material was routed through an American company, and therefore the person concerned can be tried under U.S law. The English guy is not being prosecuted in England, there is no case to answer under English law. It would seem that any country who has an extradition treaty with the USA, are obliged to extradite their citizens to the USA to be prosecuted for using USA companies to distribute copyrighted (Warez) material, even if they didn't know that their traffic was being routed through A US company.

So basically, any filehosting companies owner, who's website ends in .com or the other one (I wish I could remember it), can be prosecuted under US law, no matter where they live, if their country has an extradition treaty with the US, and that's why they are all suddenly getting jittery.

Well how about rapidshare.com? their owners claim that they are not in any kind of lawsuit danger even though they use .com domain. (their servers are outside the US)

We shall have to wait and see about rapidshare, but even if their servers are outside the US, their traffic will be routed through the US company in Phoenix. If you were the owner of rapidshare, with a very nice bank balance, would you wait and see what happened, or grab your money and head for a nice safe harbour somewhere else ? As far as Megashares went, one of the people arrested, was a Chineese citizen, living in New Zealand. The Chineese government don't give a fuck about human rights, but they do give a fuck about exporting their goods from a booming economy, to the markets of the US. So did they object, when one of their citizens was arrested ?, did they say they wanted him back ?, did they fuck, they hung him out to dry.

Servers locations dont matter any more. The FBI just check where the Corporate offices are and have made agreements on servers, with many countries OUTSIDE the US. Thats why PirateBay got taken down 3 times. The idiots had all their servers in Europe.
The FBI have just taken down servers for US sites in Manila as they have an agreement in the Phillapines too!

South America is the safest
