Hello, i posted a thread here a few months back about the court case regarding hotfile, since then i have been unwell, and have not checked alot of the changes

i have a couple of questions regarding a few hosts that were suggested back then, hoepfully people can help

I need advice on a new host, the material uploaded is not copyright so i have no issue with dmca, as why hotfile was good for me

also probably not usa based as of hosts getting took down?

a lot of the files i uploaded will not be downloaded, so unlimited storage time for premium members is a must.

If there are new sites.or any which offer this different from below id appreciate any input

rapidgator, - 90 days subscription - 1tb bandwith - 6tb storage

can anyone tell me if the rapidgator plan deletes your files after inactivity? and also if you download your own files does is that taken out of the 1tb bandwith allocated???

1fichier, i have a 1 fichier account, but the site isnt the most user friendly for my users, and also there reports of people having trouble uploading from rdp, which i will be using occasionally

freakshare - ive heard reports these delete after 90 days, even as premium, however on there faq, it says they do not delete files after 90 days inactivity? advice or input needed?

uptobox.com XFS - ive heard people mention xfs host? what is this? will it affect me and my users? however it does offer unlimited storage, bandwith and no deletion of files, does it have ftp access?

Megashares.com - reliabilty?

lastly anyone recomed a good relaible cheap server, probably not us based? iove heard hertzner are good?

and lastly im assuming all these can be used with an rdp except 1ficher

im sorry for all the questions

any help would be appreciated!

Thanks again

Thansk sasa, i appreciate that, can you downoad to your rdp/a from 1ficher?>

ive heard of issues?

again if anyone has any input regarding above would be appreciated

Regards

rapidgator, bitshare and freakshare all delete after 90 days of inactivity, even if you have premium

I can confirm this with my personal experience. That's why I had to stop using them. I also have files which hardly gets downloaded and they were disappearing.

megashares.com has been very good. I've been premium with them for 2 years now and member for many more. Fast download speeds and keep files forever for premium.
The only drawback is that they only have $10/month for premium.
But for me, I'm willing to pay this amount for a safe backup host for my files.

uptobox.com also keep files forever and there's no limitations. Both upload and download speeds are fast.

1fichier is also no problems or limitations. Fast up/down from rdp with zoom/jdownloader.

XFS means that the filehost use the XFileSharing Script. This script is a cheap way to start a filehost and those filehost who use it usually disappear sooner or later. It is also full of bugs and customization can be hard to get, so it may also be a security risk.

bill, whatever u decide to use this time use 2 instead of 1. Don't take 1 only again.

As for uptobox they are fast even for guests - guest download. As for xfs script is safe for your visitors (rest have been posted by friend thedossetup :) above) but they are in beta whatever that means.

I just tried and my RDP based in leaseweb datacenter sill works with 1fichier both uploading with zoom and downloading with jdownloser.

the last remaining big unlimited storage file hosts post Hotfile closure 2013

Megashares
one of the oldest hosts that has always provided unlimited storage and bandwidth, speeds may not be best to EU

PutLocker
Alexa top site

RyuShare
very fast uploads

FileJungle
accepts PP, part of Fileserve network; who no longer appears to be selling premium. in process of moving to NL it seems.

CramIt.in
heard there may be invisible storage cap, anyone have recent confirmation?

FilePost
fast NL host

haven't heard of Uptobox. Who knows how long this unknown will be around? Best go with host that has many customers and few years experience.

always store on 2 different servers. never put all eggs in one basket.

Thanks again for all the positive feedback, i really owe you guys a drink :)

@braodcast your right i made a major mistake in putting all my files at hotfile, i did my best to get them downloaded again, but hotfile starting restricting me to 50gb a day so in the 6-8 weeks it was not enugh time to get everything, they even removed my premium status at one point

@seeignmole, thanks agin bro, i think i will get an account with megashares.com and possibly uptobox, however i see no mention of uptobox supporting ftp? do you or anyone know if this is the case

@seeingmole aso i have a rdp in in nl via leaseweb so im happy to hear there seems to be no problems your end, i just hope if there is they wont remove the account

@thedossetup, thanks again bro, ive been looking into the uptobox but am worried they may disappear, as i mentioned before i see no mention of ftp which would be easier for me, reliabilty is the key, and as you say some of these sites disappear in the long run

@ broadcast thanks again bro, do you have any experience with what stafast suggested, , have you ever used filepost or filejungle? these are two additional accounts i was looking at??

@starfast, thanks again bro there were a few accounts i was not aware of that gave all the benefitts

do you or anyone have any experience with filepost and filejungle? They mention files are never deleted but is this true? especially for files that are not downloaded, obviously with a premium account?

Again the same goes for ryushare, do they actually keep your files as a premium member or do they delete like freashare according to seeingmole who states this goes on, also noting that freakshare states they do not delete,

so its a case of seeing if anyone has any experience and whether they can be trusted!

again thanks for everyone's input

and id appreciate any replies!

Thanks again

ryushare delete after 90 days for premium and 30 for free users

It's also xfs based host and has been around since beginning of 2012 and doesn't seems to be going anytime soon.

Sure, there's a lot of xfs scam hosts out there, but there's also many legit. Instead of spending resources on developing their own script, which may not always be user friendly (such as 1fichier), they can just buy xfs and concentrate on other things about the business.

One should use your judgment on other things as well and not just worry that just because a host is xfs based, it may not be legit or in the long run.

Never put your faith in 1 host. Every host will have some files going corrupt or simply disappearing for some reason, so you should always have several places.

I have them placed in 5 hosts, so I know my files are always there, even after DMCA. Some hosts such as 1fichier doesn't seems to respond to DMCA requests so easily as others. I guess they really look for legit requests and not just immediately remove after some lame takedown request.

uptobox has no ftp. You can also upload only 5 files at a time through their web-interface, even for premium. You better invest in a windows based rdp so you can use zoom uploader to upload and jdownloder to download.

About cramit.in, they remove files 90 days after last download for Premium user and 20 for free users. With filepost, they have some "hidden" download and storage limits. Don't remember but I think it was 60GB dl / 20TB storage or something like that...

There are also speedyshare. Backup is allowed as long as you don't use too much space. It's easy to download with no B/W limits.

Does anyone know if upstore has a limit for affiliates that aren't premium? I currently have 2.1TB uploaded and wondering if Im running out of space.

@seeignmole, thanks bro! didnt no ryushare deleted after 90 days, so it looks like the hosts are getting smaller who offer unlimited storage

little bit of an update for everyone, tried to signup with filejungle they took my paypal payment 3 days ago, and have not activated my premium, they also do not reply to emails, so looks like there out

also i was downloading from 1fichier and after downloading a 100gb i couldnt download as a premium any more i received the following email

Hello,

""You reached a normal usage limit. It seems normal regarding your internet connexion.
If you want to download more, as a professional, you should use your download credits (510GB).
For that you just have to enable the option.""

also anyone have any opinions on filepost?

thanks again

That's unfortunate, I'm sorry I suggested them. They were good when their big brother Fileserve was king. You definitely should dispute with paypal and cancel any subscription.

Another unlimited host is BayFiles. owned by the piratebay guys and located in Sweden. However there have been a lack of payment options in the past.

The problem with file sharing hosts is they aren't a reliable long term storage strategy. Most of the big ones are dead (Filesonic, Oron), dying (Rapidshare) or have changed their limits (MEGA, Filefactory, RapidGator...) Like thedossetup said, even CramIt.in and FilePost have hidden limits.

Alternatively you may want to try personal storage clouds instead of file sharing hosts. They are a safer option that won't get shut down by the government and still accept paypal.

Zoolz.com uses Amazon Glacier
$36/yr unlimited cold storage

Is Zoolz really unlimited? I know with crashplan its possible to store at least 20TB of data but its $10 per month.
Yes, since they use Amazon they'll never run out of space. The problem with online backup like crashplan, carbonite, and backblaze is that the cloud storage is proportional to how much storage is available locally. It is possible to use them for archiving, but rotating drives every 30 days is annoying. Carbonite doesn't allow more than one external drive and I believe crashplan doesn't allow NAS backup.
