Hi, how r u doing guys ? :)
today i really need a serious help from someone who had the same experience
i bought an unmanaged VPS, i gone learning some linux command lines to install and upgrade the CentOS, PHP , MySQL and Apache to install wordpress after, i choose Plesk as my admin control too.

anyway i got stuck intos domains settings like nameservers and DNS settings, i searched the whole web to find some useful tutorials but it's all about godaddy and hostgator and i have a different situation here. i received my VPS informations by email of course but i have no clue what and where to put those informations:

VPS-name: mrjoker-vps
CPU: 4 cores
RAM: 8192 MB
Harddisk: 300 GB

IP-addresses:

  • 80.62.78.101
Gateway: 80.62.78.1
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0

IPv6 Ranges:

  • 2a01:7c8:aab0:22a::/64
IPv6 Gateway: 2a01:7c8:aab0::1
IPv6 Prefix: 2a01:7c8:aab0:22a::

DNS resolver 1: 80.62.66.67
DNS resolver 2: 80.62.67.66
DNS resolver 1: 2a01:7c8:a::c53
DNS resolver 2: 2a01:7c8:b::c53

Here's some images to get a better idea:

As you notice when i change the nameserver to my domain name it requires
to complete two fields IPv4 and IPv6 and if i didn't change it like the tertiary nameserver, it gives nothing to fill more.

For DNS Settings:

Please tell me what should i do for DNS settings.

and here's the setting that Plesk gives me when i first login, i changed the full host name to ns0.idownloadgames.net and i selected the IP adress of the VPS server, i don't know if it's correct or not , please tell me what to do for this step too.

Hi
for your first picture:
DNS = Domain Name Server
there you've got the mail with two ipv4 and a ipv6 adresse
insert them at the reqiured fields.
if you really want to use your own dns-servers (and not the one of your domain-registrar) make sure your second-picture got a ns1 and ns2 entry.

second picture:
this are the Domain-Settings.
these are okay. But your A-Record has to point to the IP of your VPS
and your AAAA-Record ist optional ipv6 (the same as A-Record)
don't forget to add NS-Records when you want to use an own DNS-Server

Last picture:
if i remember right, you don't want to change FQDN to the NS-Name.
just let it point to your original Domain and that's all.
You can however change this - this will just change the FQDN your Plesk will answer your requests.

Thank you very much for your help
can i just leave it as i received, like i won't change any nameservers, will it be okey to have :
Primary nameserver: ns0.transdns.eu
Secundary nameserver: ns0.transdns.eu
Tertiary nameserver : ns0.transdns.eu

and not touching the DNS settings ? leave it as it is ? will be okey ?

just look at this:
Keep using the DNS/nameservers of your registrar. And just point it in DNS settings to your VPS main IP.

so yes, you can let the settings from your registrar.

so all you have to do is change your DNS a-record to 80.62.78.101
