A high PR value site always have high Alexa Rank
But a high Alexa Rank site is not meaning it has high PR value

Both of them are important for a site.

Both of them are important for a site. But high PR creates a good impact for your traffic.

High PR is more important then Alexa Ranking, but if you have the first one, you will see improvement in Alexa ranking, so both are good.

Pagerank is a very old method of determining a webpage's worth which is not valid in terms on modern-day SEO.

Alexa rank can easily be manipulated if you know how to. It does not give an accurate representation for web traffic unless your website is within the top 10,000 - which can be argued to be fairly accurate.



What is important: overall traffic (mainly organic and direct), strength of social media campaigns (legit facebook likes, twitter followers, pinterest pins), position on google for the highly searched keywords, etc.

Anything that is used to give a "rank" to a website or page is almost useless these days.

Oh dear, some terrible misconceptions in this thread. SJshah, Exchange4Me, and R3Z0N have it right though.

In terms of SEO and traffic, Alexa ranking has little to no relevance. Only users with the toolbar installed contribute to Alexa statistics, meaning results are incredibly biased dependant upon niche. Alexa for SEO = NO effect. Alexa for Traffic = Poor unreliable results. Generally speaking, it has no importance whatsoever.

Alexa is a way to have a general idea how big the website is, it depends though on the Target of the website, WJ has a rank of 2,112 Globally but because its a webmaster community a ranking of 2,112 (and many have Alexa plugin) i give it an estimate of having around 30 - 50k daily visitors.

But if a website with a 2,112 ranking that is not related to technology or things that require advance knowledge on computer it might mean that the website has 90k visitors a day because much less have the alexa plugin.

There is nothing useful from Alexa ranking expect for this point.... (it will give credibility for your website if you have a ranking less than 10k).

Experts see Alexa ranking as a valuable resource, to estimate the size of a website with taking in consideration other variables, if a website is less than 1200 it should have about 250,000 visitors and more (again depending on the target audience and the pageviews...etc) ....

for example i have a website that goes through it 1,300,000 users a day, but because they don't browse it and usually have 1 - 2 pageviews the ranking of the website is only 1100.

so easy to get alexa rank...i can use alexa booster .. to improve my rank just use proxy then that done

but got pagerank that not easy like alexa rank
then for me pagerank is first then next is alexa...you need Quality backlink then pagerank is important not alexa rank

Alexa ranking is not going to help you very much in terms of SEO.

PR is going to help you much much more, but nowadays there are so many more factors than just PR that is going to determine how your website is going to rank.
