It seems you don't own any DLE site. Google sandbox doesn't depend on source base, it depends on content

Google doesn't penalize/sandbox sites for no reason. Even if you use bad techniques on a WP blog or whatever your site will get penalized/sandboxed. It has nothing to do with the CMS used.
I'm personally using DLE on my blog for over 10 months, never had any issues with google sandboxing or penalizing my site.
Just stay away from bad techniques/misleading/cheating/blackhat SEO. You will be fine. :D
Oh, you are all funny. He's not talking about pathetic websites with 5-10k per day visits. When you get REALLY big, you will see how much it will cost you.

Yea true Smith, but that's only in case someone would use bad techniques to promote his site. Using keywords that don't exist (generated automatically) in search page for instance. That could bring tons of organic traffic for sure but it lasts for a short while only.

i tried both , as mentioned on some earlier replies if u are a begginer go with wordpres however u have to install hundred plugins thats why i hate wordpress , but if u know how to use html and cms go with DLE.

well if you are using wordpress, if you want my recommendation, then I would say stick with wordpress because it's opensource and lot of plugins and everything modules are automatically installed within admin CP unlike dle, you have to manually edit files like index.php/engine.php/init.php and option.php, and most of mods that people really hungry to have to make profit are really commercials and DLE is also commercial software not open source...
but what I love about DLE is easy to customize, every module and design are solely separated and independent, you can make any customize and look of your site any way you want and easy to specify user group to see or not to see on your site...that why I leave wordpress and joomla behind...now I am with DLE..but if you are using wordpress and happy with it, you should stick with it...
well, if you understand the concept on applications like you do know how wordpress works, DLE is pretty much the same way, you just need to understand how it works then you will have unlimited modifications and setting is not as complicated as wordpress, only thing is that installing module will require additional files edits but every module comes with instructions...but keep in mind that you may not be able to convert or import your wordpress data into DLE because we don't have any converters right now...
