It's a pretty simple question. Disable it, or leave it be.

Upside: Less spam.
Downside: Links aren't clickable.

Workarounds such as "Only allow this URL:" well, if you can code up such a modification I am happy to check it out!

Vote away.

well allowing only WJunction links and imghosts link

such as (LulzImg - ScreenSnapr etc..) which are getting used to much in WJ will be good

and disable other links which are other than WJ!

only WJ links should be alive and filehosts also :S?

no idea but idea is good and i feel bad lol

well i personally think its a good idea. The amount of spam that happens in the cb on a daily basis is to much sometimes. However allowing certain urls may be a not bad idea.

What is funny though, everyone this morning was complaining on the amount of spam happening in the cb,then when a solution is reached most just turned the drama to that instead. There is not pleasing the trolls it seems

yup File hosts
and seen many guys asking for Bumping topics of W-bb
so need to censor the links

but all image host allowed

we need clickable links of atleast some sites like some image hosting sites so that we can share screenshots & all. This is the only thing we do in SB ^o) I votes "No Leave it"

Its only a chatbox nothing serious so leave as it is?

The majority of links posted are images and, if there not live no one will be bothered to copy/paste

If someone starts spamming there usually told to F off, and they do :P

Why would we allow file hosts? Such as RapidShare etc? This isn't a sharing forum, and if something such as a phpBB template is to be shared, it'd probably be rare in the CB... I've seen barely any active links to popular file hosts in the CB. Maybe even none.

I'd be strongly against this. Not allowing links to be clickable basically says that spammers have won and that regular members who obey the rules are the ones punished.

Simple thing is if someone asks for a topic to be bumped they get a 24 hours chatbox ban. If someone posts a link to a topic more than once it's a 24 hour chatbox ban. I guarantee within 3 days if this was enforced well then the spam in the chatbox would reduce by at least 90%. As admin state in a new topic that staff have being instructed to more strict in the Shoutbox and then encourage them to be more generous in handing out shoutbox bans. Even an hour ban will teach someone a lesson.

Don't censor WBB or any other site. I hate when sites are censored and should be a last resort. Do not let spammers win this and punish regular members or you'll annoy a lot of good members even if they don't yet realize it.

Thanks for your thoughts Mr Happy, a more clearly defined rule set is in the works. Sadly I haven't had the chance to start it just yet. But soon :)

I think maybe a url shortner would possibly be a better idea, We would have a lot "butt hurt" people if they could not spam there internet speed or there hosting thread imo

Also i dont think file sharing host should have there own group they have done anything to deserve it imo that benefits me in anyway
