I was going through this section and other hosting ones, and I did not find out many people talking about ddos protection and managed hosting and all that.

So I decided to open a thread about it.

Do people here need ddos protection and managed hosting a lot or what?

Thoughts please.

With your sig being what it is you are bordering on a rules violation. If I were you I would approach creating or answering threads with great caution being you are advertising here. Please be sure to read both the the general and hosting rules to be certain you are in compliance.

...I did not find out many people talking about ddos protection..

The reason for that is, based on my nearly 15-years of experience hosting websites and having websites hosted on the 'Net, DDoSs are quite rare for the average webmaster.

Have to agree with WDF. Opening a thread to highlight something you're selling is kindof cheesy.

FWIW, there are two things webmasters can do to lessen the prospect of a DDoS:

1. CloudFlare (https://www.cloudflare.com/) which deals with DDoSs at the datacenter level automatically.

2. LiteSpeed web server (http://www.lightspeedtech.com/) which I use for all of my servers. It has excellent built-in DoS protection. See http://www.litespeedtech.com/litespeed-web-server-features.html
