Congrats to whoever LockDown is, but I sure don't understand anything about why somebody becomes Respected. Hell, I even don't understand how the Rep rank is calculated.

Sniffdog: 2498 posts, 19 point rep

Why does one become respected and the other not? Please understand, I don't really care what Rank I am.
 
There's a lot of criteria that we staff consider before promoting a member to the Respected Rank. When one of us staff notice a member we deem worthy of being promoted to Respected, we call a vote. If the majority of the other staff agree, the member is promoted.

No different here - I've noticed Lock Down helping members (all the time) over the past couple months. So I figured I'd call in a vote. That simple, really.
 
IC. Well, I helped a lot of people too (on MSN too) and saved a lot of members some dough they would have spent on dodgy hosts on WJ.

Furthermore, to me it looks like the reputation points (given either by actively helping people).
