Hi guys, you are my last hope.
I spent the last 2 days trying configure BIND on my CentOS 5.9 with nameservers in resolv.conf.
Then I ask help to my hosting, they said:

Hello,

You must register your own nameservers, as we usually don't provide DNS for Virtual servers. Let me know your domain name and I can guide you through the process.
Both the ns1 and ns2 records should point to your server's IP. The entries in resolv.conf are for the outgoing connections, and should not be edited.
So i tried to point domain to main server ip (obviously without success)

Should I request another 2 ip to my hosting and setting up BIND, or should i configure BIND with the resolv.conf nameservers?

Install Kloxo or Webmin or Virtual Min ; as i don't recommend you to use the raw architecture . Using panels yo'll be at ease to setup everything by urself .

Did you get it to work ? PM me if you still need help... What exactly are you trying to do ? Set up the nameservers for your domain ? @ DLow shouldn't take 24 hours for dns to resolve in most cases.

Unless your servers are already registered as nameservers, you will need to go to your Domain provider, and "Register" your nameservers for your domain. They must also be present as A records in your zonefile on your server. So, say for example, your domain was example.com:

ns1 300 IN A 1.2.3.1
ns2 300 IN A 1.2.3.2

You would add those to your zonefile, then at your registrar, individually register "ns1" and "ns2" for example.com with those IPs respectively. It usually takes about 24 to 48 hours to globally propagate. Once they do, switch over your domain's nameservers to your newly created nameservers, modify the NS records in your zonefile to point to yours, and the setup should be complete.

Do you really need bind?

You can host DNS at eg. namecheap.com add a A record to your server IP at namecheap, edit httpd.cnf and use php mail.

A 2 minute job

You got two options

1. You will want to register your own nameservers like ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com. And for this, you need two different IP. You may use one for both nameservers but its recommended to have different IP's for both nameservers. If you have any control panel installed on the server like cPanel or any other, you can configure it easily if not then its kinda tricky to configure own nameservers.
2. In the last post, Gavo has suggest other options. Just your domain registrar's nameserver and point your record to the server.
