Well, alot of people experience slowness due to alot of things like images and text being cached by the clipboard whenever they use Ctrl + C.
So, to clear the Clipboard memory, the following steps should be followed.

  • Open Run from Start Menu.
  • Type ‘Clipbrd‘ without quotes.
  • A window will open, there click on the ‘X‘ icon.
  • There will be your recent copy & paste materials.
  • After clicking on the ‘X‘ icon, a popup menu will open and it will ask to whether clear all contents on clipboard.
  • Click on Yes and all your Clipboard Memory will be cleared.
  • Now, experience your computer without lagging.

I tried it on WinXP :p not sure about it whether it works on Win 7 & Vista :s
Please can confirm whether it works in Vista ?

For Windows7,

I Right clicked on Desktop > New > Shortcut
For teh Location, Type ... C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c "echo off | clip"
Give it a name, IE ... Clear Clipboard,
Now right click your shortcut and change teh "Run:" option to Minimised.
Can also change teh icon ;)
