Hii guyz,
as the topic name says : I can't load XP without keeping XP CD in CDROM.

If I load without XP CD it gives me DISK BOOT FAILURE ERROR.

The thing is:
I formated my pc and installed XP in I: Drive .
Now the scene is :
Windows is in I: drive and ntldr files are in C: drive, thatsy I think this problem is coming..

What you guyz suggest I shud do?

dont think this is mbr issue,

Go into Bios and turn of floppy drive and usb boot support, and then make sure your Primary hd is selected as first boot option!

when u get this issue means there is a conflict with ur antivirus and a worm, that keeps infecting files and windows trying to replace them...

use an adaware and try to update ur virus drivers, plus run in safe mode, if no error there then it is a startup file that messing the whole thing.
+ check windows services

Lol @ Whoo :D

Folder option --> View tab --> advanced setting --> un check "Hide protected operating system files"

This allow you to see boot.ini in the operating system partition then

go to boot.ini

then put these details
Code:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
save it

this setting is for primary master hard desk and the windows installed in C: partition

Be sure that the first boot device is the hard desk not the CD in Bios.
