Hey, apparently wrzhost received complaints from their bandwidth provider, forcing them to shut us down or else they themselves would be shut down.

Pretty gay considering that I only link to warez, nothing more.

Anywho, can someone please refer me to a decent VPS host? Preferably one that has more control over their servers than wrzhost.

I am a decent VPS host, Ill try and keep you on our network as long as possible. We havent had any isssues yet that would lead us to cick some one off.
 
Our bandwidth provider pacnet blackholed the ip untill we removed you.
ANY host would do the same.
It's not the "control" over the servers.

Anyway good luck in finding a new host,I wouldn't pick asia again since pacnet is used by a lot of asian datacenters.
 
Tippie, I wasn't defaming your host. I was describing the whole situation as gay.

What I don't understand is this; if shutting a website down for DMCA violation is as easy as sending a message to the bandwidth provider, then why haven't other studios used this approach also?

Oh, and while you're here... do you happen to know when this IP ban will be lifted?
 
Well what i am saying is most people go for 99.9% as they got to account for datacenter troubles. Just so they can cover them selfs..

most places is up 100% unless there is problems with hardware and thats whhy its 99.9% :)
 
If your site has become such a big "deal" that an adult movie studio is contacting your host's bandwidth provider to shut you down, then you definitely need to go with a "known" warez host. Since Asia isn't an option for you, I'd say either Ukraine or Sweden.

In Sweden, PatrikWeb.net hosts some torrent sites, and it hosts tvshack.net. Another few are portlane.com and prq.se which is run by ThePirateBay, both host a slew of torrent sites.

In Ukraine, colocall.net hosts Demonoid and other torrent sites, hostpro.ua resells shared and VPS from Colocall. Their site is in Russian/Ukranian but they take orders from US and EU, and they process through 2Checkout so you can use PayPal and Credit Card with them.

Obviously another option might be Ecatel in Netherlands, however they don't have VPS (lots of people probably resell VPS from them). Some of the other places I mentioned don't sell VPS either, and they're pretty expensive as well so they may not be in your budget.

I liked the sound of Plutost but the prices are just too expensive. Plus I was under the impression that your VPS packages were hosted in Malaysia.

The Datacenter of our Servers are in Malaysia (CBJ)
They allow everything except Child Porn, Terrorist Activities ! :p

The servers are expensive, as the DC tells that they never get down. So to keep them running all the time they require extra $$$ thats why its priced too high :(
