So I was using my desktop and was in the middle of doing something and all the sudden the screen goes blue. Nothing but a nice blue screen. I quickly googled what to do and it came back with start up in safe mode with cmd prompt. That did not work same blue screen. Next I tried system recovery that did nothing for me, but a blew screen. Any ideas on how to fix the issue or determine if it is hardware?

Thanks for the help in advanced.

It wont run in safe mode. I have a lot of files that are important on there. Should I try getting an 3.5in enclosure and see if I can get the files off it?

Get another HDD, install an OS use it to boot (or find another HDD with an OS) and then copy all your files off of your old HDD then reformat =)

What the fuck you lot on about, dont go buy new hardware until you know what's exactly causing the problem.

Ok heres what you want to do.

1. On the BSOD, They issue an error code witch looks like "Stop 0x00000079 (...)", Write that down and post it.

2. where i have put (...) This is usually a readable constant of the error, does it ring any bells with hardware or software ?

3. That error code, past it in google like "(CODE) Windows Error" or "site:microsoft.com (CODE) Error"

and see if theres any information pages available.

Send us links on what you find!

Bare bone your PC:

Remove all external hardware (hard drives, External GFX Card,Sound Card,Wifi Card) etc, and then try boot and test, if evverything is ok, place back in 1 peice at a time to see what exactly is causing there error

Peace

Check The Hardware Cables Inside The CPU<
Remove It And put It again
If u Getting Errors Then there is Something Wrong With Motherboard,H.D.D

LOL this happened to me many times whenever I tried to install a hardware even if its not working :D and choose a wrong driver. :)) Better Format your Drive and Reinstall windows. ;)

But anyway backup your data. You should do that in case of hardware failures whether this is one or not. Once the hard drive quits it is gone for good. DVDs are cheap.

first check if you installed any new software which could have installed a driver interfering with other softwares!second u said u had many files so check your harddisk do a defragment!third if u added a new ram check it coz sometimes ram dont work @the same speed when u put it in your pc it accept it but may cause u some prob too later!

as far as i can tell hes not getting a BSOD, he says theres no text on it, so defs cant be a bsod, id reccomend driver updates for your gpu for sure.
also what were you doing when you got it?

i had same problem with my office pc, i think its windows drivers corrupted by the viruses, you can't recover your C drive when you try to recover or boot your windows by bootable cd it show unformatted partition so you need to format your C drive and install new windows, only one solution you have, try other things if you have.....

You can use several of many recovery programs from a bootable cd if it says your hard drive is unpartitioned. TRY UBCD or DBCD or dozensmore.
You can save your data if you need it.
