There's no doubt, WCDDL is the best ddl script out there.
However, I am sure, I can do some magics with my skills and I was just thinking, I have extra time to code and wanted to hear other people's opinion: What tweaks would you like to see on your wcddl website? I'd love to hear feedback from all of you regarding above. Cheers

1. It's not "one of the best" it is the best.
2. It's not on the market, its a free script.

@topic, some ideas I've had before:
- automatic site rating system (based on no. of submissions) - would be easy to code.
- automatic deletion of old downloads - on a cron, maybe

basically, mods that do minor things automatically and make the ddl easier to maintain.

1º Already did til rank 4 based on downloads number 5 to whitelisted
2º become default on wcddl maintenance "Delete Old Downloads" removes 1/4 of total downloads starting from older
 
I'm not sure whether these mods are already available, but here are a few suggestions:

  • Automatic back link checker, which checks and approves site each time the site submits.
  • Separates sites that have already been rated, and the new ones in the Queue to make it easier for the admin to approve.
  • A file hosts module, similar to what Katz have recently released.
  • Smart pagination which arranges downloads in the order of 1) Site rating, followed by 2) Number of mirrors.
  • Auto emails with a link to Ban reason to the Admins email.
  • Shortcut to site properties from Queue.
Umm, that's about all I have in mind for now, if you were to code these, are you plan on selling them of giving them away for free?

Easy to code, but first ddl's must have some discussion abut general rules.
Button are required in homepage or in every submitted pages, i mean will search for link-back on site url or in first download url.

Already did by t30d0r3 (sorry if misspell), an paid mod, contact author.

Smart pagination which arranges downloads in the order of 1) Site rating, followed by 2) Number of mirrors.

This require the fetch downloads be recoded, since ins't cached i guess will slow down the site, already did the mod to sort results, can sort an search by title ASC like.

If use my sites admin mod (not free) just add in link the site. click on site open the site administration to edit there info (sname,surl,email,contact,rank... )

you want to make your own mods for your site and just take some ideas or you will share them?
 
Quite a few are on the WC forums.

A few are on pirates forum too.

To be honest though, a lot of wcddl users do code their own stuff.
 
^ Yes, JmZ is right. The ones who start DDL basically have good knowledge of PHP, and to prevent spending time on writing a DDL script from the scratch, then use WCDDL and code modifications for it.
 
I agree with you, JmZ. I asked couple of times about above but I have never intended to sound and act lame or so...

I rather code my own modifications(like from scratch) than always lookinf for bugs and so.

Last few days, I was playing a bit more with wcddl script. Hopefully, I'll finish soon(being busy with another projects) and post some screenshots here. Regarding the sharing part aka my work, um...I've seen so much unthankfulness in my life and people that never appreciate other's hard time & work, so I'm not sure but I'll think about it. Nothing personal here!
However, I'd like to thank everyone here for sharing valuable tips and thoughts. Keep rockin'!
