What would be the best my.cnf config ?

There isn't a best config you just need to tweak values.

Since you have a lot of ram, mainly the memory related settings.

e.g. key_buffer, table_cache, sort_buffer_size, read_buffer_size, query_cache_size and max_connections

Not sure i was call that expensive... could get that for $150/mo. but anyway...

run mysqltuner and some other mysql tuning scripts. they will give you some ideas on how to tweak your database. you may wish to read up on some mysql documentation to learn what each setting does in my.cnf so you can tweak it to your needs.

while you do have a lot of ram, try not to over tune. if you want to get the best performance, look into hiring a database admin who knows how to tweak mysql.

on a side note(if you want ultimate performance), you may also wish to look into running the DB on a 15K SAS drive for faster performance.
