Apple is richer than US government

Apple reported the quarterly earning of US$ 75.86 billion till the 25th of June 2011 .

The U.S government reported total operational balance of US$ 73.768 billion on Thursday , which is lesser than Apple.

The US Government, on the other hand, is close to defaulting on its national debt of $14.3 trillion.

The failure by the Republicans and Democrats to come to a compromise to raise the current $14.3 trillion debt ceiling by Aug 2 could lead to a hike in interest rates.

The US government spend $10 billion a day so Apple would be broke in a few days. You can't compare these two things as it's like saying a canoe is faster than a Formula 1 racing car crossing a lake.

Apple still isn't richer than the US government. Apple couldn't survive a 1 trillion dollar debt yet alone 14 trillion.
