Try Jdownloader, it has mp3 download feature from youtube videos. It does it directly, no post video conversion

well, he can still use jdownloader.. Set up the jD web interface.. create a simple script to add links through jSON to jDownloader.. start the queue and callback the url to the mp3 as soon as its done.. Simple ^_^

I just download the video with IDM and dump the video in to Goldwave and it extracts the audio for me then save it.
