With the recent news about PRISM and state surveillance, the preparations for Anonymous’ OpJuly4th – a campaign initiated at the beginning of 2013 – have stepped into high gear.

The campaign’s aim is to raise awareness and, according to the activists, “restore our nation to unity and return popular voice as the governing hand of our nation.”

“On July 4th 2013, all Anons are called to stand in front of public gatherings and centers of commerce and hand out copies of the U.S. Constitution,” reads a statement published on Sunday by the campaign’s initiators.

According to the OpJuly4th.com website, 104 cities from all over the US will take part in the event.

The operations’ initiators say the protest will be peaceful and there’s no mention of any hack attacks. However, since this is an Anonymous campaign, chances are that at least some hackers will show their support in their specific manner.

Wow so someone is finally going to do something about this, Instead of just sitting back saying oh wow we and everyone else is illegally being spied on that sucks.

Why don't they just start an all out civil war ? I mean its going to happen in the US at some point now seems like a good time to start one :P.

I do agree happy but like i said at least someone is trying to do something (i guess that's what matters). If it will fail or not still remains to be seen.

When you look at their "members" who are like "i am an anon makes me leet hacker". It does make anonymous look like a total joke. But on the other hand they have done some impressive things, Like helping people in syria keep internet when shit started hitting the fan.

To be honest though i don't have much faith in Anons to actually achieve success and i am surprised on the few occasions when they do.

Sinister was a famefag, egofag, leaderfag.... there are no leaders of Anonymous and that guy acted like a lead man. Anyways, shadow you would be right on the money :) It's wild how many times I have actually read and heard that whether it's Civil War or a complete Nazi Germany all over again for standing up to the government.

Just share it and if you have Facebook/Twitter then search the hash tag #OpJuly4th it's gaining speed now. CNN, ABC, CBS, etc.

I’ve only read a couple of paragraphs but this has to be one of the longest, most pointless and poorly written rambling press releases I’ve ever seen http://pastebin.com/xabseJhU

Anyone else finding this Anonymous crap getting old?

They need to grow up and do what adults do when they want to change laws or make laws, and that is lobbying.

Anonymous could easily become the biggest lobbying group ever, they have millions of supporters and can launch viral media campaigns easily to raise money.

they have a really good point though. we can't just roll over and watch Obama's administration fuck up our rights. Terrorist are here because we went there that's why I adore new Zealand they don't poke their fingers on stuff that don't concern them. then again about warez, if the software/ movie/ music producers made things cheap enough there won't be any case of warez look at Open source stuff never heard any complaint from libreoffice or openoffice or Novell for pirating their open source stuff.

They do make them somewhat cheap, but they also spend alot of money producing stuff its not like they get donations or volunteers. If the average movie ticket was still $3 in the U.S., few movies would still turn a profit.
