I think you have to be careful when you consider a free alternative to cPanel, because the support and the features just aren't there. Just look at the case of zPanel. Now, I can understand the desire to have a cPanel alternative, and I would recommend going paid with something like InterWorx or Plesk. InterWorx is just as feature rich as cPanel and is available under a lifetime license or for very low prices through resellers like LicenseCart. Best part is that they do a free trial, so you can take it for a test spin. Hope this helps.

Centos web hosting control panel is good one and you can restore cPanel backups as well.
