Hi,

Im thinking about making my own website for streaming/allowing download of my DJ mixes which are in mp3 format. Most of the tracks that appear in the mix are free from Soundcloud so im not too sure about copyright etc thus why im *maybe* looking for offshore hosting to be safer....Yes I know i could store my mixes on soundcloud or simular...but i want my own custom website and identity.

1)In regards to bandwidth, I am not expecting a huge about of traffic, so loads of people downloading/streaming my 1 hour approx mixes shouldnt really be a problem. Its only a hobby so I have no intention to earn money from it. Just want to spread my DJ mixes via streaming and download.

2)I am not really worried about SLA as its not a business. As long as the website is up most of the time 95%...that is ok

3)As it is a hobby, im looking for cheap and cheerful. If shared hosting is available, then im ok with that. I have had a look at free hosting, and i will just buy a .com domain to link to it.....but i am put off with the risk i will just get kicked off their servers with no notice after setting it all up (although i will keep a backup).

4)Huge amount of storage space is not a problem. I currently only have 4 x 1 hour mixes approx...about 100mb each. Even if i only have 1 gig storage, i can delete old ones when getting close to capacity.

So can anyone advise where I should try for cheap...or even free hosting. Or am I asking for too much for too little?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Doing some research, I could just store my mixes on my dropbox or box account and just stream from there using an embedded player on the web host i choose to go with. Would this be ok for shared hosting or would it still use up too many resources for the "player" code running. This would overcome the hoster i chose worrying about me over doing the resources wouldn't it?
