Hello every body.

I have a host with 9xhost.info and it will expiry on next 16 march , 4 days a go a came back from a trip out of the city and out of Internet coverage . My friends contact me telling me that my sites have been down for more than 2 weeks. So, i contact their customer support telling them that my sites was down for more than 2 weeks. Their support asking me why i wouldn't contact them earlier and i told them i was out of the city. Then they change the status of support ticket to (in progress). After that i didn't hear from them from Wednesday till Friday, so i contact them again after that they replay to my tickets tell me this:

hello last time server hardrive was failed and we resotred all backups of account but you never contacted and so your backup gone overwritten

Then i wrote to them:

It was not my duty to keep my eyes 24 hours on my sites waiting for your hard failure to contact you.
You should restore all backup with out my notice.
Now i lost all my PhD online data, which i have no backup because it was an interactive online questionnaire.
You make me lost a work of months and may be my PhD degree.

I just need my backup put they didn't respect my situation and they simply CLOSE the ticket.

its completely your duty to see the back up from every client has been taken and restored. its not like, if some one starts a ticket you restore their DB. The worst of answers i have seen by any support guy!

thanks for the Warn Mate
i feel for you.
a quick Suggestion: when you see .info domains for hosting ignore em!!

Backups are always your duty to keep for sure. This happens with shared hosts. Your first clue that it would happen is being with a host that offers super alpha plans

5.) Backups and Data Loss

a. Your use of the service is at your sole risk. We are not responsible for files and data residing on your account. You agree to take full responsibility for files and data transferred and to maintain all appropriate backup of files and data stored on our servers.

Their fault for hardware failure, but they protected themselves with ToS.

I knew that accident can happen and peoples can dies.
But the thing that make me crazy. Why should i contact them asking for restoring my backup after their hard failure. I think it is 101 of common sense is to restore all the backup after hard failure (If they have it).
