Hi

I am a n00b in website management.

I have bought a domain @ namecheap and 1TB hosting @ gearserve but once i check my domain its showing

I have installed WP on this and once i access domain/wp its showing 500 ISE.

Does it take 48 hours to updates ?

I have followed this thread to create by website.

upto step 2 everything is done but i am hopeless in going forward please help.

try deleting .htaccess ..

while going to filemanager via cpanel, just tick on show .(dot) files .. or something like that and you will be able to see it

WP was installed with softaculous.:'(
 
ofc it is .. if you are afraid then just download the file and delete it -.-

so if you feel something goes wrong you can upload it back .. also .htaccess is generated automatically once it's deleted ..

also i see you installed with softaculaus .. just try manually if the .htaccess doesn't work but i'm sure the .htaccess should do .. just download it to be sure :)

i have tried deleting the .htacess but still no success :'(
 
Hello,

500 ISE could also be a database permissions problem, I'd double check first in your phpMyadmin that the database was created by Softaculous correctly and all the tables are there correct also. There should be 11 tables in the database that you created in the setup.

If that fails, try deleting your wordpress installation and start it again. Aaaand if that fails I don't mind looking into it for you if you pm me details.
 
Now another noobish qn,sorry.

when i access the url video.org its showing index and video.org/wp its fine.

how to make video.org show the wp ?

CHMOD first then try everything else, depending on ure hosting options some cpanels show a chmod option, if not open using ftp (ws_ftp or whatever) right click the file u want to edit (ie index.php or whatever) select unix comand and check all the boxes, in other words allow it to read, write and execute.
